The Glass Works

The Glass Works is the centrepiece of the town’s ‘Better Barnsley’ transformation. Queensberry, acting as Strategic Development Partner, led the development team responsible for design, delivery, leasing and management set up.

Funded by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, to champion further economic growth, it provides the community a new place to reconnect and socialise. Retaining Barnsley Markets, with 100 stalls, was key to this strategy. The integrated Library@Lightbox is another star of this exemplar regeneration initiative complimenting a large outdoor events space, retail, leisure and restaurants.
