George Hotel

The existing George Hotel is a Grade II listed building facing onto St George’s Square and is a focal point of the Town. Well known for being the birthplace of Rugby League, this redevelopment ensures the history of the building is retained whilst it is brought back into daily use. Queensberry and Kirklees Council have selected Raddison Red as operator to provide an exciting, aspiring and thriving 91-bed hotel and business centre. Sympathetically crafted, contemporary new rooms sit behind the façade to John William Street and the main ‘House’ is retained as a key feature to welcome an ever-increasing number of visitors to Huddersfield.
