This month we chat with Caoimhin Akynes, our sponsored middleweight boxer from Northern Ireland.

Caoimhin Agyarko has been boxing for at least 15 years, it’s his passion, his life and he absolutely loves it. Rising through the ranks, overcoming adversity and carving out a name for himself on the boxing circuit.

We have been supporting Caoimhin for the last 4 years and over that time he’s proven his worth, winning 9 fights in a row. Latest news is his recent change of management team to Paul Ready & STN and a new promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom. These are significant career developments. His Matchroom debut takes places on 11th December at the M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool.

Caoimhin said:

“I’ve been in training camp for the last 10 weeks focusing on staying in shape and sorting out my next move. I’m absolutely buzzing for my debut fight on 11th December in Liverpool on the Katie Taylor / Conor Benn undercard. This is such a great card and also an honour for me to share a card with Irish great Katie Taylor. Training has been going really well and I’m excited to get back in the ring before the end of the year. I’ve moved across to Matchroom because they are fully aligned with my goals which involve bringing me home to Belfast, being able to build my career there as well as being able to fight in the states – which is very big deal for me. As always Paul at Queensberry has continued to support my career keeping me as a full time athlete and supporting my dreams. Without sponsors support none of this would be possible. I can’t thank him enough for sticking by my side and believing in me.”

We asked Paul Ready why he’s taken on Caoimhin.

“Caoimhin is a fighter I’ve been an admirer of for a long time and when the opportunity to work with him presented itself, it was the easiest decision ever. Very quickly we have struck up a close bond outside the ring and it’s one which will continue to grow and flourish as he succeeds. The plan is to build the next Irish superstar who wins multiple world titles.”

Caoimhin Agyarko fights at M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on 11th December 2021. The fight will be live on DAZN channel (subscribers only).
